Trump: I Believe Putin Wants to Reach a Peace Agreement in Ukraine
According to teh English section of webangah News Agency, citing Qatar’s Al Jazeera, U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he wants to end the war in Ukraine and called it possibly the toughest conflict he has tried to resolve.
The U.S. president added, “I think Putin will agree on a peace deal in Ukraine. Putin wants to finish it. My threat of sanctions against Russia may have influenced the Russian president’s decision to request this meeting.”
Trump continued, “If tommorow’s meeting [with Putin] goes badly, I will not contact anyone. If it goes well, I will reach out first to Zelensky and then to European leaders. Economic incentives and sanctions are two powerful options,and Putin must choose between them. border and territory exchanges will take place.”
Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov earlier stated that the meeting between Russian President vladimir Putin and U.S.President Donald Trump would begin tomorrow night at 11:30 AM alaska time (10:30 PM Moscow time / 11:00 PM Tehran time).
