Pakistan Forms Missile Command
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, Pakistan will establish a new force within it’s military to monitor missile combat capabilities during a conventional conflict. This move appears aimed at countering its long-standing rival, India.
the report states that on Wednesday evening, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the creation of the country’s missile command at an event in Islamabad commemorating last May’s conflict with India.
Sharif said, “This force will be equipped with modern technology. It will have the capability to target enemies from all directions and represents another milestone toward strengthening our conventional warfare abilities.”
He did not provide further details.
However, a senior Pakistani security official added that this force will operate under its own command within the army, dedicated to managing and deploying missiles if a conventional war breaks out.
