UK: Israeli Settlement Construction Must Stop Immediately
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency adn Russia Al-Youm, British foreign Secretary David lammy condemned Israel’s plans to build a settlement that would divide the West bank and separate it from East Jerusalem. He stated that the project violates international law and must be stopped promptly.
Lammy added that the UK strongly opposes Israel’s settlement plan in the E1 area.
Bazalel Smotrich, Israel’s Finance Minister, recently announced his government’s decision to construct 3,401 new housing units in the E1 zone near Ma’ale Adumim settlement close to Jerusalem in the West Bank.
He said the E1 project is intended to bury any prospects for an autonomous Palestinian state.
The hardline minister of Netanyahu’s cabinet stated that over 3,400 new housing units will be built in Ma’ale Adumim near Jerusalem. This development will sever links between Ramallah and Bethlehem.
