Gaza Health Ministry Predicts 500 Deaths Daily from Famine
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian details Center, Dr. munir Al-Barash, Director General of Gaza’s Ministry of Health, stated that the Israeli regime is directly targeting hospitals in the region. He also revealed that 95 percent of Gaza’s groundwater is no longer suitable for drinking.
The director added that due to malnutrition, doctors in Gaza are unable to work 24 hours straight, with some even fainting during surgery.
He further reported that detained Palestinian doctors held in Israeli prisons are losing weight while being humiliated by their captors who withhold food and medicine from them.
Al-Barash warned that if famine continues, Gaza will face a stage where 500 people could die daily. He confirmed that so far 240 people have died from hunger and malnutrition in Gaza Strip-106 of whom were children.
Dr. Al-Barash also noted that 40,000 infants in Gaza suffer from malnutrition and 100,000 breastfeeding women are affected by this condition as well.
