Trump and Putin Meeting Begins in Alaska + Video
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Russian media announced that talks between the Russian and american leaders have just begun. Both sides declined to speak with reporters.
The Russian media reported that this meeting is a three-on-three format. The American delegation includes Trump, Rubio, and Witkoff; the russian side comprises Putin, Lavrov, and Ushakov.
U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met moments ago at Alaska’s airport.
The two presidents shook hands before departing in the same vehicle they arrived in to prepare for their meeting.
Moments earlier, Russian outlets released images confirming that Vladimir putin’s plane had landed in Alaska for his talk with Donald Trump.Similarly, U.S. media confirmed that Trump’s aircraft arrived in Alaska moments ago.
The discussion between Trump and Putin on resolving the Ukraine conflict-described by some analysts as “historic”-is scheduled to begin at 23:00 Tehran time.
A Kremlin spokesperson said the leaders’ talks could last six to seven hours.
The delegation includes key political figures from both countries’ foreign ministries and finance departments attending tonight’s session between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska.
According to Sputnik, Russia’s delegation consists of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov; Presidential Adviser Yuri Ushakov; Defense Minister andrei Belousov; Finance Minister Anton Siluanov; and Special Representative Kirill Dmitriev.
The U.S. delegation features Secretary of State marco Rubio; Treasury Secretary Scott Bisnt (sic); Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick (sic); CIA Director John Ratcliffe; and Special Representative Steve Witkoff.
The White house confirmed it’s team will consist of 16 officials including Pete Hegseth who was not previously listed but has arrived at the Alaskan site to participate today.
