Israeli Attacks on Gaza Aid Convoy Leave 46 Dead
The United Nations Human Rights Office stated that as early august, the Israeli military has launched 11 attacks against forces responsible for securing humanitarian aid convoys to Gaza. These assaults have resulted in at least 46 Palestinian deaths, according to a report by webangah News Agency citing the Palestine Information Centre.
Most victims where members of security forces accompanying humanitarian aid convoys. Though, some civilians waiting to receive aid and others were also injured during these incidents. The UN described these actions as part of a “repetitive pattern” of unlawful targeting of Gaza’s civil police forces, causing public order to collapse along critical aid routes.
Between May 27 and August 13, 2025, the UN warned that Israel had killed at least 1,760 Palestinians; among them, 994 died near sites associated with the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Hub” supported by the US and Israel, while 766 were killed along aid convoy routes. At a press briefing in New York, UN Secretary-General spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric called the killing and wounding of Palestinians lined up for humanitarian assistance “deeply concerning.” He cautioned that conditions could worsen unless aid delivery is expedited safely and without restrictions.
Dujarric emphasized that Gazans have lacked cooking gas for five months and highlighted an alarming rise in children admitted daily to hospitals due to malnutrition. He reiterated the Secretary-General’s opposition to further Israeli settlement expansion and forced displacement policies against Palestinians.
