Israel Approves Plan to Occupy Gaza City

According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr news Agency and⁣ Al ⁢Jazeera, Israel’s public broadcasting corporation ‌announced that Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff​ of the⁣ Israeli military, ⁣approved the plan to occupy ​Gaza City tonight.

The⁤ occupying army‍ estimates that a full occupation of Gaza City will take approximately four months.

A knowledgeable source told Israel’s ‍public broadcaster that the United States has requested to be kept informed about this operation.

Reports indicate that Israel has informed intermediaries that if Hamas does not return to negotiations, the first phase of occupying Gaza will begin soon.

However, Israeli officials have admitted that such threats are unlikely⁤ to⁣ bring Hamas closer to talks.
