Baghdad and Washington Discuss Bilateral Relations and Oil Issues
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Sumeria news via Mehr News Agency, Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Fouad Hussein, deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Steven Fagin, the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Baghdad, on Sunday.
The meeting focused on the course of bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States, especially the role of American oil companies active in Iraq.
They also discussed issues concerning oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region and explored solutions to resume oil exports from its fields.
Both parties addressed regional developments,during which the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires outlined his government’s position on recent Middle East events.
