Zelensky and European Leaders to Meet Trump on Announced Schedule
The English section of webangah News Agency reports, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, that the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump will take place today at 8:15 p.m. Moscow time (8:45 p.m.Tehran time).
According to the White House, this meeting will last one hour. A multilateral meeting between the US president and European leaders is scheduled to begin at 10:00 p.m. Moscow time.
The discussion between Trump and Zelensky will focus on resolving the war in Ukraine. French President emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will attend the session with Trump.Additionally, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, announced yesterday that she would join this multilateral meeting.
Following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, Trump contacted Zelensky by phone as well as leaders from Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland, Finland, France-and also NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Ursula von der Leyen.
After this call, Zelensky stated he intends to discuss “the details of ending the war” during today’s visit with Trump at the White House. According to The New York Times, Trump invited European leaders to accompany Zelensky at this session.
