Tel Aviv Turns to Diaspora Zionists for Support
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Israel’s military radio acknowledged a critical shortage estimated between 10,000 and 12,000 personnel. As a result, Tel Aviv is exploring the option of recruiting Jews living abroad.
The report states that Haredi Jews within the occupied territories largely do not serve in the Israeli army and consider themselves exempt. This exemption has contributed significantly to Tel Aviv’s manpower deficit.
Israel’s military radio further reported that Tel Aviv plans to call on Jews outside the occupied territories to enlist their youth in the Israeli army.
Along with personnel shortages, the prolonged conflict in Gaza has also weakened both morale and capability among Israeli soldiers.
