Death Toll Rises to 20 in Mysterious Explosion at Russian Factory
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, authorities in the Ryazan region of Russia have confirmed that the number of fatalities from Friday’s factory explosion has increased to at least 20.
Local emergency services reported that 134 others were injured in the incident.
Pavel Malkov, governor of Ryazan, located just southeast of Moscow, stated on August 15 that the explosion followed a fire inside one of the workshops within the factory.
Russian media have not released any details about the exact cause of the fire or what products were manufactured at the facility.
Emergency officials added that out of 134 injured, 31 patients are hospitalized in Ryazan and Moscow, while 103 are receiving outpatient treatment.
