UK Sanctions One Iranian Individual and Four Entities
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Reuters, the UK has imposed sanctions on one individual and four Iranian entities alleged to be part of a network supporting Tehran’s operations abroad, including in Ukraine and Israel.
Reuters reported that an official statement posted on the UK government’s website detailed these sanctions, which include asset freezes targeting Hossein Shamkhani and four companies involved in shipping, petrochemicals, and finance.
The UK claims this network has facilitated Iran’s hostile activities, including efforts to destabilize the UK and other countries.
According to Reuters, some sanctioned companies are accused of acting on behalf or under the direction of Hossein Shamkhani. Shamkhani, son of Ali Shamkhani-an advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader-was also sanctioned by the United States last month.
