Hamas: Official Gaza Famine Declaration Is a Stain on the Israeli Regime and Its Supporters
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) responded to international agencies’ official declaration of famine in the Gaza Strip.
The Hamas statement said: “The official announcement of famine in Gaza is a disgrace and shame on the occupying regime and its supporters, requiring urgent steps to stop the war and reopen Gaza’s crossings.”
The movement added: “This official declaration confirms strong international evidence of crimes committed by Zionist occupiers against more than two million besieged peopel.”
Addressing Israeli denial of famine in Gaza, the statement stressed: “The occupiers’ denial exposes a criminal mindset deliberately lying to cover up their murderous crimes through killing and starvation.”
Hamas called on the United Nations and Security Council for immediate action to end hostilities and lift Gaza’s blockade. It demanded unrestricted reopening of crossings for rapid, sustained delivery of food, medicine, water, and fuel.
