Britain Emphasizes Offering Diplomatic Proposal to Iran
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera Qatar, the UK Foreign Secretary confirmed he has held discussions with iran’s Foreign Minister alongside his European counterparts.
he added that concerns regarding Tehran’s nuclear program were raised once again during these talks.
The UK Foreign Secretary stated that a diplomatic solution was offered to Iran, which includes extending sanctions relief. however, he emphasized that “time is limited.”
Earlier, France’s Foreign Minister announced they had conducted a new phone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister.
Jean-Noël Barrot said the call included participation from EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and also the foreign ministers of the UK and germany.
This statement comes after official domestic sources confirmed that foreign ministers from three European countries, along with the EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy, held a telephone conversation with Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s deputy Foreign Minister.
During this call, Iran clarified its position on the so-called snapback mechanism and highlighted the responsibilities of the three European countries and the EU regarding this issue. The Iranian minister emphasized these states lack both legal and moral authority to invoke this mechanism and warned about potential consequences if they proceed.
The parties agreed to continue discussions between Iran and these three European countries along with the EU at deputy foreign minister level next Tuesday.
