Date Set for Signing Security Agreement Between Damascus and Tel Aviv

An Israeli media outlet has announced the approximate timing of a security agreement signing between the Jolani regime and Israel.

According ​to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Nashra, Israel is pursuing a security agreement with Syria through ongoing negotiations mediated by the United ​States.

israeli Channel 12 reports that ⁣both sides are nearing an agreement likely to be finalized‍ by the end of September, with Washington’s mediation ⁢and support from some Gulf Arab regimes.

The Israeli outlet claims this pact aims⁤ to stabilize ⁣Syria, reduce Iranian influence, and diminish threats along Israel’s northern‌ borders.

On Sunday, Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, leader of the ruling terrorist faction in Syria, confirmed during a reception for a media delegation‍ in Damascus that advanced talks ​on a security agreement between Israel and Syria are underway.

Jolani stated ​he would have no⁤ hesitation signing any deal beneficial to Syria and⁤ affirmed that any agreement with Israel would be publicly announced.

He added that any ​peace accord would be based on⁢ the 1974 ceasefire line, preserving Syrian sovereignty while paving the‍ way for confidence-building measures⁣ and potentially reaching a full peace treaty.

Since Bashar al-Assad’s ⁤government fell, ​Abu Muhammad ⁢al-Jolani’s regime has signaled significant shifts in Syria’s political discourse and ⁤expressed readiness for open‌ policies toward normalizing relations with Israel.

During the first half‌ of 2025,regional and European mediators initiated channels between Damascus and Tel Aviv. Reports indicate that this new Syrian government not only intends to ‌sign a ​reconciliation deal with Israel​ but is also prepared ​to recognize Israeli sovereignty over occupied⁤ Golan Heights-conditional on economic guarantees related to easing or lifting Western sanctions.
