Netanyahu Elated by Beirut’s Decision to Disarm Hezbollah

The office of the Israeli Prime Minister has enthusiastically welcomed the U.S.-backed Lebanese⁢ government’s decision‌ to disarm Hezbollah, calling it a precondition for​ reducing Israel’s occupation against Lebanon.

The office of Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel,⁤ issued a⁢ statement expressing appreciation for the plan announced ⁤by Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun adn Prime Minister ⁤Najib Mikati ‍to disarm⁢ Hezbollah by the end of this year, according to webangah News Agency, citing ‌Russia Today via Mehr News agency.

The statement said Tel Aviv is ready ⁤to support Lebanon and ⁤cooperate with it toward a ​more secure and stable future. Though,​ Netanyahu’s⁣ office made no reference to Israel’s daily ​ground and air attacks ⁢on Lebanon or its ongoing occupation of⁤ parts of Lebanese territory.

Moreover,⁤ Netanyahu’s office added that if Lebanese‌ security forces take steps toward disarming Hezbollah, tel Aviv will reduce its occupation presence​ in Lebanon⁣ in coordination with the⁤ united States.
