Gaza Health Ministry: Attack on Nasser Hospital Constitutes Crime Against Humanity
The Gaza Ministry of Health strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s direct attack on the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, describing it as a continuation of systematic genocide and crimes against humanity, according to webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency and Al-mayadeen.
The statement said,”This horrific crime carried out this morning against the only operational hospital in southern Gaza is part of a purposeful plan to destroy the healthcare system and represents organized genocide. It sends a humiliating message against all human values and global justice.”
The ministry called on the international community and relevant organizations for immediate action to protect what remains of health services in Gaza.
It added, ”The international community’s silence and failure to take concrete measures to stop thes occupier’s crimes constitute complicity in continuing these tragedies.”
Initial reports indicate that at least 20 healthcare workers, patients, journalists, and rescue personnel were killed in the attack.Dozens more were injured. Besides human casualties,the strike forced closure of surgical wards,depriving patients and wounded individuals of medical care.
A source at Nasser Medical Complex confirmed that Palestinian journalist Ahmed Abu Aziz was martyred during an Israeli strike targeting the hospital’s emergency building and meeting area.
