US Treasury Takes New Measures to Support Julani Regime
The U.S. Treasury Department announced on Monday that sanctions against Syria have been officially removed from federal law and will take effect tomorrow, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera.
The Treasury claimed that former President Donald Trump stated conditions in Syria have changed and positive actions have been carried out by the new government-referring to the multinational terrorist groups led by Julani ruling Damascus.
According to Al Arabiya, following Trump’s previous order to lift Washington’s sanctions regime against Damascus, the U.S. Treasury today issued final regulations ending sanctions on Syria.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) said in a statement that “due to the termination of the national emergency under which these regulations were imposed and further changes in United States policy regarding Syria,” it has removed syrian sanctions regulations from federal law.
The removal follows the rise to power of Julani-led multinational terrorist forces in Syria. Meanwhile, syrian citizens endured severe hardships under these sanctions during years of legal governance prior to this regime change in damascus.
