U.S. Official Claims Readiness to Participate in Hezbollah Disarmament
according to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and Saudi-owned Al Hadath network,Morgan ortagus,Deputy special Envoy for Middle East Affairs and the U.S. point person on Lebanon, clarified Washington’s role regarding Hezbollah’s disarmament. Ortagus claimed that the United States is prepared to develop a plan for the Lebanese army aimed at disarming Hezbollah and even participate in it’s implementation.
Ortagus also launched accusations against Iran and Hezbollah, asserting that “Hezbollah represents Iran, not the Lebanese people.”
This claim comes as Sheikh Naim Qassem, Deputy Secretary-General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, stated on Monday: “We will not relinquish the weapons that protect us from our enemy nor will we allow Israel to be freed and roam freely in our country.”
