Seoul: Pyongyang Can Produce 10 to 20 Nuclear Weapons Annually

According to the English section of⁣ webangah News Agency, citing Reuters via Mehr News Agency, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung stated that⁢ North⁤ Korea has reached a level where it can⁤ manufacture between 10 ‌and 20 nuclear weapons each⁣ year.

Lee added that his ⁣meeting wiht U.S. ‌President Donald ⁢Trump was serious and marked by cooperation and engagement.

He further said Seoul plans to⁢ increase its defense budget and will cooperate with​ Trump to establish peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The South Korean president⁣ previously told Trump at the White House, “I ask the U.S. president to play‌ a role in achieving peace‌ on ⁣the Korean Peninsula and meet with‌ the North Korean leader. The situation on the peninsula has worsened ⁢since Trump left office and Biden’s administration took over. I will help you establish peace in this region.Our cooperation⁣ with Japan ‌and the United States is very meaningful. I traveled to Tokyo to ⁤address tough ‌issues.”

These remarks⁢ come as North Korea announced on Sunday, ‍August 23, that it tested two new⁢ air defense missiles under direct supervision of leader Kim Jong-un.

Official Pyongyang media reported‍ that these tests ​demonstrated that these missile systems possess “high combat capability.”

the Korean Central News agency (KCNA) also stated that‍ the launch confirmed these‍ two types of missiles are fully capable technically of destroying various aerial ⁣targets.
