Damascus Condemns Aggressive Moves by Israeli Regime in Syria
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the Syrian Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning Israel’s recent attacks that resulted in the killing of a young man during an assault on his home in Tarnaja village, located in northern Quneitra’s outskirts.
The ministry’s statement also condemned the entry of Israeli occupation forces and their detention of civilians in Suwaiseh town near Quneitra. It further denounced ongoing occupation activities on Mount Hermon (Jabal al-Sheikh) and surrounding buffer zones.
Syrian officials described these aggressive actions as clear violations of the United Nations Charter, international law, and relevant Security Council resolutions. They labeled them a direct threat to regional peace and security.
The statement called on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to take immediate measures to halt these acts.
Notably, Israel’s Defense Minister Yisrael Katz recently declared that Israeli troops would remain stationed on Mount hermon in Syria.He claimed that this deployment serves as a necesary security zone to protect communities in both the Golan Heights and Galilee from alleged Syrian threats.
