Hours earlier, Israeli sources reported that an Israeli army tank engaged in routine operations in southern Syria caught fire due to a technical malfunction.

It should be noted that as the fall of Syria’s former regime, Israel has carried out extensive attacks inside Syrian territory. Recently, it bombarded areas around Damascus under the pretext of protecting Druze communities.
Since President Assad’s government fell into conflict, Israel’s military has continued occupying areas near Golan across demarcation lines between occupied golan and Syrian territory in Daraa and Quneitra provinces.
Yesterday, Israel also bombed a region on Damascus’s outskirts.
