UNICEF: Israel Blocks Medicine Entry into Gaza
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, reported that UNICEF’s spokesperson in Palestine told Al Jazeera that distributing humanitarian aid in Gaza faces serious challenges. Nutritional supplements arrive in very limited quantities and onyl under pressure from the international community.
The spokesperson added that obtaining permits to bring aid into Gaza has become a real hurdle. Israel continues to ban many medicines, claiming they are non-essential.
The UNICEF representative asserted that the international community must move beyond mere condemnation and take concrete, effective action.
Meanwhile, Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner of UNRWA, warned there is no safe place in Gaza and no one is secure; there is no justification for widespread attacks on Palestinian lives and identity. Health workers, journalists, and aid personnel have been killed at unprecedented rates unmatched by any modern conflict.
He further stated that hunger threatens everyone living in gaza-either with slow, silent death or desperate searches for food. Hospitals, schools, shelters, and homes are attacked daily as the humanitarian situation deteriorates rapidly.
