US and European Troika Foreign Ministers Confer on Iran
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and the U.S.State department website, Tommy Pegut, Deputy spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, issued a brief statement on consultations between Marco Rubio and the foreign ministers of the European Troika (the UK, France, and Germany) about Iran.
The statement on the U.S. State department website noted that Marco Rubio held discussions with Jean-Yves Baroux, France’s Foreign Minister; Johann Vadfoul, Germany’s Foreign Minister; and David Lammy, Britain’s foreign Secretary concerning Iran.
The statement added that all parties reiterated their commitment to ensuring Iran never develops or acquires nuclear weapons.
This comes as the Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly asserted that its nuclear program is solely peaceful-a claim reportedly confirmed by agency reports.
