White House Tempts India!

The White House⁤ claims that if India stops purchasing oil from Russia, it could benefit from ⁢a 25 percent tariff reduction ⁣as early as tomorrow.

According to the English⁢ section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency adn⁢ Anadolu, Peter ⁣navarro, senior trade and manufacturing advisor‍ at the White⁤ House, asserted that if India halts its oil purchases from Russia, it could‌ immediately receive ⁢a 25 percent tariff‌ cut.

Navarro told Bloomberg, “It’s really simple. If ⁢India stops buying⁣ Russian oil and fueling Moscow’s war machine, they can get a 25 percent tariff reduction starting tomorrow.”

He claimed that when india buys discounted Russian oil and resells⁤ it globally, Moscow uses⁢ those revenues to fund its war efforts and inflict further deaths on Ukrainians.

The White House‍ official accused⁢ Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of financing Moscow’s purchase of “drones and bombs to kill Ukrainians”⁤ through oil sales.

Referring to the peace ‌process in Ukraine partially involving New Delhi, Navarro added: ⁣”the ⁣truth is⁤ that India and China must stop buying Russian oil. Do this tomorrow, and the war will end. ⁣If countries simply stop buying Russian oil now, just wait a bit – you ⁤will ⁤see that Vladimir Putin no longer has money to fund this war.”

A 50 percent⁢ tariff imposed by then-President Donald Trump on Indian imports took effect yesterday. Earlier this month Washington applied ‍an initial 25 ⁢percent tariff on New Delhi but increased it by an⁤ additional 25 percent as punishment for ‍purchasing Russian oil – raising total tariffs to 50 percent.

According to the U.S. Trade Representative’s office, bilateral trade between India and the United States totaled $129 billion in 2024 ‍so far. During this period Washington recorded a $45.8 billion trade⁣ deficit with New Delhi.
