Reuters: Security Council to Meet Tomorrow on “Trigger Mechanism

Reuters claims the Security ⁤Council will meet tomorrow to discuss activating the snapback mechanism.

According to the English section​ of webangah News‌ Agency, citing Mehr News ⁢Agency and al Mayadeen, Reuters quoted political sources⁤ saying the security Council will hold⁤ a meeting on friday to review the decision by the ‍UK, France, and Germany to trigger‍ the snapback mechanism. al ‍Jazeera also reported that this⁣ meeting will be held behind closed doors.

The foreign ministers of these three European ​countries and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs recently informed IranS Foreign Minister Seyed abbas Araqchi by phone of thier intention to officially notify the Security Council about initiating what is known as⁤ dispute resolution under the JCPOA. ⁣They also emphasized their readiness to⁤ seek ⁢a diplomatic solution within 30 days ⁢in order to resolve outstanding issues and ⁢prevent the reinstatement ⁣of ⁣Security Council⁤ sanctions.

Iran’s Foreign Minister ⁣deemed ‍this move ⁢by the ⁢three European countries unjustified,illegal,and lacking any legal basis. He​ recalled Iran’s responsible conduct based on good faith ⁣in⁣ adhering to diplomacy ⁤for resolving nuclear-related matters. He stated that the Islamic‌ Republic will respond appropriately to⁣ this unlawful and unwarranted action by these European states in‌ order to protect its national rights and interests.
