Moscow Strongly Condemns European Troika’s Decision Against Iran
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Al-Youm, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has vehemently condemned the european troika’s decision to reactivate sanctions against Iran. Moscow emphasized the need to resume constructive dialog between parties to avoid a new crisis over Iran’s nuclear program and called for a reassessment of the sanctions reinstatement.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that there is no legal or legitimate basis for the European troika to trigger the snapback mechanism against Iran.
The ministry’s statement added: “We urge the European troika to reconsider its decisions before they lead to irreversible consequences.”
Moscow expressed its belief that “the approach taken by the European troika toward Tehran has no future.”
The statement continued: “The priority must be to revive constructive talks among all relevant parties in order to prevent a new crisis surrounding Iran’s nuclear program. The efforts by the European troika to reinstate sanctions undermine attempts at achieving a negotiated solution on this issue.”
Previously, China’s Foreign Ministry noted that Iran’s nuclear issue is at a sensitive stage and that dialogue and negotiations must resume. it expressed support for peace talks aimed at returning discussions about Iran’s nuclear file onto a proper track, describing renewed UN Security Council sanctions against Iran as an unproductive measure.
