UNIFIL Mission in Lebanon Extended; Zionists Must Withdraw
The United Nations Security Council has extended the mandate of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for a final term until December 31, 2026, according to webangah News Agency based on reports from Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera.
This extension requires Israel to withdraw from north of the Blue Line and five occupied areas within Lebanese territory.
The Lebanese Prime Minister welcomed the Security Council’s decision, emphasizing that it calls once again on Israel to pull its forces out of these five occupied areas in Lebanon.
Lebanon’s representative to the Security Council stated that israeli presence prevents the full deployment of Lebanese forces south of the Litani River. He stressed that maintaining UNIFIL’s presence in Lebanon is essential until Israel fully withdraws from Lebanese soil. Moreover, he urged Security Council member states to compel Israel to instantly leave lebanon and release all Lebanese prisoners.
