Hezbollah Disarmament Paves the Way for the Dangerous “Greater Israel” Project
Mehr News Agency, International Desk: Ahmad Abdulwahab Al-Shami, an expert and presenter with Yemen’s Al-Masirah Network, spoke at the international conference “Disarming Hezbollah and Lebanon’s Future,” attended by Iranian, Lebanese, and Yemeni analysts organized by mehr News Agency. Referring to verse 102 of Surah An-Nisa-“Those who disbelieve woudl wish you neglect your weapons and your baggage so they coudl come down upon you in one [single] attack…”-he said: “The enemy waits for us to become unarmed so it can attack.”
He added that this situation concerns Hezbollah. The enemy seeks to seize the resistance’s weaponry in Lebanon. Behind this effort stand the United States and the Zionist regime. Their goal is to weaken Lebanon’s resistance so they can dominate both the country and region. It was Hezbollah’s weapons that liberated southern Lebanon in 2000.It was also those weapons that stood against the Israeli army in 2006. Efforts to disarm Hezbollah serve as groundwork for executing the dangerous “Greater Israel” project.
Al-Shami further explained: The U.S. and Zionist regime have no problem with weapons under their control; their objection lies only with arms held by free men of honor-the resistant fighters’ weapons ensure security. The enemy fears these arms because they block its hegemony.
According to Ahmad Abdulwahab Al-Shami, resistance arms are not merely a tool of war but a vital existential red line. If disarmed, enemies advance; if maintained, deterrence remains effective.
He concluded: Yemen views Hezbollah’s arms as those of the entire Islamic nation-a symbol of pride. Hezbollah preserved Islamic unity in 2000 and 2006. All members of the Islamic nation bear obligation to support and defend Hezbollah’s arsenal.
