Germany Urges Its Citizens to Leave Iran
The German Foreign Ministry, continuing a series of provocative and unlawful measures by three European countries against Iran, has issued a statement urging its citizens to leave Iran and avoid traveling there, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via russia Al-Youm.
In its statement, which was published by Germany’s official news agency, the ministry claimed-without mentioning the failure of these three European nations to fulfill their commitments-that given Iran’s repeated threats of retaliation in the past,it is conceivable that German interests and citizens could be affected by reciprocal actions within Iran.
The ministry also announced that the German Embassy in Tehran currently can only provide limited consular assistance.
The three European countries party to the JCPOA-Germany, the United Kingdom, and France-known as the European Troika-sent a letter on Thursday to members of the United Nations Security council announcing they have triggered the snapback mechanism to reinstate UN sanctions against Iran.
