Trump Defies U.S. Court Ruling; Tariffs Remain in Effect
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, U.S.President Donald Trump emphasized that tariffs imposed by the white House on imports will stay in place despite a ruling by the District of Columbia circuit Court declaring many of these tariffs illegal.
He wrote on his social media platform Truth Social: “All tariffs remain in place. Today, a highly partisan appeals court wrongly ruled that our tariffs must be lifted, but judges know that ultimately, the United States will prevail.”
He added, “If these tariffs are removed, it would be a complete disaster for our country. such an outcome would weaken us economically at a time when we must be strong.”
Trump continued: “America will no longer tolerate massive trade deficits or unfair tariffs and non-tariff barriers imposed by other countries – friends or foes alike. This ruling if upheld would effectively devastate the United States.”
He also noted his management plans to challenge the District of Columbia Circuit Court’s decision at the Supreme Court.
