Egypt Pushes to Bridge Iran and Western Views Following Troika Decision
According to the English section of webangah news agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry revealed its ongoing efforts to reconcile differences between Iran and Western countries.
The ministry announced that Cairo has been engaged in consultations on Iran’s nuclear issue to pave the way for resuming negotiations between Iran and the United States.
The statement from Egypt’s Foreign Ministry saeid that over recent days, Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty held talks with counterparts from the European troika, Iranian and American officials, as well as with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
According to Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, these contacts aim to align perspectives among all parties involved in order to reach a enduring agreement that respects everyone’s interests. The goal is also to reduce tensions, restore trust, and create a conducive habitat for achieving regional security and stability.
The ministry added that these talks are part of Egypt’s intensive efforts-carried out in coordination with relevant parties-to reach understandings fostering convergence of viewpoints. Thay intend to open doors for diplomatic solutions and dialogue toward a deal on iran’s nuclear program. These measures seek to prevent escalation and ease crises especially following the activation of UNSC sanctions snapback mechanism against Iran thru the Security Council.
