The Sunday Express: Most People in England Would Not Defend the Country if War Breaks Out

Survey results reveal British ‌citizens’ unwillingness to defend their country in the‌ event of war.

A survey conducted by the⁤ Sunday express shows that two-thirds of British citizens are unwilling to defend ⁣their country if‌ a military attack occurs,‌ according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Russia Today and Mehr News Agency.

The‌ poll found that 64 percent ⁣of respondents firmly opposed joining the British armed forces in case of ⁢war, while six percent were uncertain about whether they woudl enlist.

Mark Francois,‍ a member ‌of one of⁤ the opposition parties in Britain, stated that the current government is responsible for diminishing citizens’ willingness to serve in the military.

Government reports indicate that Britain’s armed forces face severe structural challenges, casting doubt on their readiness. ⁣The UK Defence Committee announced in 2024 that the army suffers from shortages⁤ in⁤ both equipment and personnel.
