Direct Flights Between India and China Resume After Five Years

India and China have⁤ agreed too resume direct flights between ​the two countries after five‍ years.

according to the English section ​of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr​ News Agency and Xinhua, the‍ President⁢ of China ⁤held⁢ a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister narendra Modi⁤ in a ‍northern Chinese coastal city. In​ this⁣ meeting, Modi‌ emphasized India’s commitment to expanding relations⁢ with Beijing.

This‌ marks Modi’s first visit to China in seven years, aimed at participating⁤ in the Shanghai Cooperation⁣ Association summit.

Analysts ⁢believe that China and India seek to form a united front against pressure from Western⁣ countries, especially regarding customs tariffs.

Bloomberg also reported quoting Modi that India⁣ and China have agreed to resume direct air services between the two ​countries after being ‍suspended for more than five years. Relations had deteriorated sharply following border clashes in 2020.
