Direct Flights Between India and China Resume After Five Years
according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Xinhua, the President of China held a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister narendra Modi in a northern Chinese coastal city. In this meeting, Modi emphasized India’s commitment to expanding relations with Beijing.
This marks Modi’s first visit to China in seven years, aimed at participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Association summit.
Analysts believe that China and India seek to form a united front against pressure from Western countries, especially regarding customs tariffs.
Bloomberg also reported quoting Modi that India and China have agreed to resume direct air services between the two countries after being suspended for more than five years. Relations had deteriorated sharply following border clashes in 2020.
