Hezbollah Disarmament a U.S. Initiative; Lebanon Resistance Takes Firm Stand
Mehr News Agency, International Section: Zainab Farhat, an analyst for Lebanon’s Naba TV Network, spoke at the international conference “Disarming Hezbollah and Lebanon’s Future,” attended by Iranian, Lebanese, and Yemeni experts and held at Mehr News agency. She said the current Lebanese government’s decision to disarm Hezbollah is not an internal matter but an American initiative. Joseph Aoun, Nawaf Salam, and a group of media and political operatives are tasked wiht carrying out this project on behalf of the United states.
In her video remarks on this topic, she added: The country proposing Hezbollah’s disarmament is the United States. Lebanese sovereignty does not play a role in this decision; instead, America acts under direct pressure from Saudi Arabia. Saudi envoy Yazid bin farhan incites discord notably in this issue. The disarmament plan-essentially a U.S. project-serves the broader goal of establishing a new Middle East.
The Naba TV analyst also noted that the proposal to disarm the resistance lacks necessary consensus due to Shia ministers walking out of cabinet sessions.
Zainab Farhat emphasized that Hezbollah has clearly stated its firm stance against disarmament. Civil disobedience, government collapse, and halting parliamentary elections are possible scenarios ahead. If any political faction within Lebanon threatens Hezbollah domestically, it stands ready to defend itself-though it opposes any internal conflict or civil war-and its weapons target only Israel as its enemy.
