Erdogan Vows Continued Support for Iran in Nuclear Negotiations
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Anadolu, Turkish President recep Tayyip Erdoğan held talks today, Monday, with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin, China.
A statement from Turkey’s Directorate of Communications about this meeting said the two presidents discussed Turkey-Iran relations as well as regional and international developments.
The discussions covered recent developments in Syria, israeli attacks on Gaza, and the peace process in the South Caucasus between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Erdoğan stressed to Pezeshkian that cooperation between turkey and Iran across many sectors-notably energy-is mutually beneficial.
The Turkish president also highlighted the importance of progressing Iran’s nuclear negotiations and affirmed that Ankara will continue its support for Tehran in this matter.
