Kremlin Reports No Agreement Between Putin and Trump on Meeting with Zelensky
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency, which in turn quoted Russian news agency Sputnik, Yuri Ushakov, Kremlin foreign affairs advisor, stated on Monday, August 31, that there is no agreement between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump regarding a meeting between Putin and Ukrainian President volodymyr Zelensky or holding a trilateral summit.
Ushakov emphasized: “What has been appearing in recent media reports does not correspond to reality. Many talk about a trilateral summit or a direct meeting between Putin and Zelensky, but to the best of my knowledge, no agreement has been reached between Putin and Trump on this matter.”
Trump also told The Daily Caller on Saturday, August 29, that a trilateral summit with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine will take place.Though, he expressed uncertainty about a bilateral meeting saying the parties might not be ready for it.
