Kallas: Diplomatic Solution for Iran Nuclear Issue Still Viable
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, João Vale de Almeida, the EU’s foreign policy chief, emphasized in a meeting with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), that a diplomatic solution to Iran’s nuclear file is still possible.
In a message posted on X, Vale de Almeida-without mentioning Europe’s failure to fulfill its JCPOA commitments-saeid that Iran must ensure transparency and fully cooperate with the IAEA.
Referring to his meeting with Grossi, he underscored full EU support for the agency’s actions and stated that the Union stands ready to play its role in this matter.
Earlier hours on Monday, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy noted-without referencing the unlawful move by three European countries to trigger the snapback mechanism against Iran-that activating this mechanism for reinstating sanctions does not signify an end to diplomacy.
