1,000 Sudanese Killed in Village Massacre; Only One Survivor
A natural disaster in western Sudan has resulted in the deaths of a thousand people.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, a landslide struck a village in the Jebel marra region of western Sudan, killing one thousand residents.
The report states that only one person survived the disaster. The landslide occurred following heavy rainfall over recent days.
Officials from this Darfur region have called on the United Nations and it’s affiliated organizations for assistance.
They confirmed that the village was completely destroyed. It is important to note that civil war over the past two years has displaced many Sudanese citizens, forcing them to flee toward villages and other areas.
