Iraq Dismantles One of ISIS’s International Networks
According too the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Malouma, Iraq’s National Intelligence Service reported the arrest of members belonging to ISIS’s primary financial network responsible for moving terrorists across several countries.
The statement from the agency noted that these arrests were carried out under the supervision of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council. In 2023, a separate ISIS-linked financial network was identified and dismantled in Kirkuk province.
The statement further emphasized that the detainees were apprehended in multiple West African countries following surveillance of their movements and communications originating from within Iraq. These individuals financed ISIS activities and planned terrorist operations in various countries.
