Lavrov: India Refused U.S. Demand to Stop Buying Russian Oil
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that his country expects negotiations with Ukraine to continue, with delegation leaders in direct contact.
In an article published in the Indonesian newspaper Kompas, lavrov said a lasting resolution in Ukraine is unfeasible without addressing the conflict’s roots and eliminating threats to Russia’s security.
The Russian foreign minister added that the annexation of Crimea, Donbas, and Novorossiya by Russia must be recognized.
Lavrov emphasized that for lasting peace, new territorial realities should be acknowledged and secured within an international legal framework.
He also stated that India has not succumbed to US demands to stop buying oil from Russia, a stance Moscow appreciates.
