Trump Claims Attack on Drug-Smuggling Boat in International Waters + Video
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Donald Trump posted on his social platform Truth Social that U.S. military forces, under his orders, launched a decisive strike against identified elements of the terrorist drug cartel “Tren de Aragua” (TDA) within the Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) area of responsibility.
The former president claimed that Tren de Aragua is a recognized foreign terrorist group operating under the control of Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela’s president. He added that this organization is responsible for mass murders, drug trafficking, human trafficking, violent acts, and terrorism across the United States and the Western Hemisphere.
Trump asserted that 11 terrorists were killed during the operation and no American soldiers were harmed.
He emphasized that the attack took place while these terrorists were transporting illegal drugs through international waters bound for the United States. “This is a serious warning to anyone considering smuggling drugs into America; beware!” he said.
In recent days, the U.S. military deployed several destroyers to Venezuelan waters under the pretext of combating threats from Latin American drug cartels.
Nicolás Maduro responded to these deployments by calling them a “double threat,” unjustifiable, unethical, utterly criminal and bloody. Facing this maximum military pressure,Maduro declared Venezuela’s full readiness to defend itself and warned that if the United States attacks Venezuela,it will formally declare itself armed according to its constitution.
