Kim and Putin Accompany Xi Jinping on Tiananmen Square Red Carpet
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and France 24, Kim jong-un, leader of North Korea, and Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, joined Chinese President xi Jinping at the grand Victory Day parade. The event marked a triumphant diplomatic week for China and it’s allies against the West.
France 24 reported that in unprecedented footage, Xi Jinping was seen walking on a vast red carpet at Tiananmen Square while speaking with Putin and Kim. Xi waved both hands as Putin stood to his right and Kim to his left.
The 90-minute lavish ceremony commemorated the 80th anniversary of World War II’s end, Japan’s official surrender, and China’s resistance against Japanese aggression. For Xi Jinping, it was an opportunity to showcase China’s military strength, unite allied leaders, and send a message to the Western world.
At the start of the parade, Xi warned that the world still faces a “crossroads between peace and war,” but emphasized that China is unstoppable.
