Deadly Virus Outbreak in Gaza Preys on Hungry Children
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, Gaza has recently seen an outbreak of a new highly contagious viral strain with lethal symptoms resembling those of COVID-19. This virus is spreading primarily among children in Gaza amid widespread famine, ongoing blockade, and the breakdown of medical services.
Dr.Ahmed Al-Fara, head of Pediatrics and obstetrics at Nasser Medical Complex, emphasized that this virus closely resembles COVID-19 and severely impacts children due to malnutrition and weakened immune systems.
He explained that the virus also shows flu-like symptoms. The lack of humidifiers caused by frequent power outages further increases health risks for patients.
Al-Fara stated that Israeli attacks on Nasser Hospital are neither isolated nor unprecedented. He accused the Israeli military of deliberately aiming to kill during bombings targeting medical facilities.
He noted that deaths from starvation and malnutrition have reached 330 people so far, including 125 children.
The head of Pediatrics and Obstetrics at Nasser Medical Complex urged the international community for immediate action to stop what he described as an ongoing genocide in Gaza.
