Hegset: “Maduro Must Decide; We Are Not Seeking Conflict with Russia or China
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said today in an interview with Fox News that President Trump sent a clear message to drug traffickers by targeting a ship off the coast of Venezuela yesterday.
the defense secretary added that the decision to change the government in Venezuela rests with President Trump, and they are fully prepared for this outcome. He emphasized that the attack on Venezuela is not an end but only the beginning. Maduro must make decisions regarding this matter.
Pete Hegseth also stated that the United States is not seeking conflict with Russia or china.
This comes as Donald Trump claimed hours earlier on his social media platform Truth social that U.S. military forces carried out a decisive strike against identified elements of the terrorist drug trafficking group “Tren de Aragua” (TDA) within SOUTHCOM’s area of duty under his orders.
the president alleged that Tren de Aragua is a recognized foreign terrorist organization operating under Nicolás Maduro’s control in Venezuela. He asserted that this group is responsible for mass killings, drug trafficking, human trafficking, violent acts, and terrorism across the United States and Western Hemisphere. According to Trump, 11 terrorists were killed in this operation while no american soldiers were harmed.
