According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Alam, China showcased its strategic nuclear power in land, sea, and air domains for the first time during a military parade held at Beijing’s Tiananmen Square. The event commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The military procession marked China’s 80th anniversary victory over Japan and celebrated the end of World War II with a display of ballistic missile units equipped with nuclear warheads.
Citing China’s official news agency Xinhua, this was Beijing’s inaugural simultaneous exhibition of its nuclear capabilities across three arenas: airborne Chengli-1 missiles; submarine-launched intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) Joolang-3; and also ground-based ICBMs Dongfeng-61 and Dongfeng-31.
In addition to advanced intercontinental ballistic missiles, mobile missile systems were also exhibited during the ceremony. These mobile platforms enhance rapid relocation ability and significantly increase China’s nuclear forces’ operational versatility.
Chinese officials stated that this military parade was held within the framework honoring China’s victory in the People’s War against Japanese aggression and World War II resistance against fascism.
