The Guardian: Three-Quarters of Gaza Prisoners Are Civilians
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and The Guardian, classified data shows that only one in four Palestinians arrested in Gaza is identified by the Israeli military intelligence service as a combatant.
The report acknowledges that an overwhelming majority of Palestinian detainees are civilians held without charge or trial in Israel’s arbitrary detention facilities.
These individuals include Palestinian prisoners and long-term detainees without indictment or trial, among them medical personnel, teachers, government employees, media workers, writers, patients, people with disabilities, and children.
The Guardian added that one of the most shocking cases involves an 82-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s who has been detained for six weeks.
