Palestinian Resistance Inspires My Resilience; I Fear No Zionists
The international solidarity fleet “Samoud,” comprising over 70 vessels from 44 countries, set sail on sunday, August 30, 2025. The mission aims to deliver humanitarian aid, food, and medicine; amplify the voice of the Palestinian people globally; and ultimately break the blockade of gaza.
Various international coalitions including the “Freedom Fleet,” “Global Gaza Movement,” “Samoud Convoy,” and Malaysia’s “Al-Samoud Nusantara” are part of this initiative. Prominent figures such as Greta Thunberg,Mariana Mortagua,and other environmental and human rights activists are participating.Organizers announced that dozens more ships from Tunisia and Mediterranean countries will join by September 4.
The vessels departed from ports in Barcelona, Genoa, Tunis, and Greece with thousands gathered in Barcelona for send-off events. They aim to reach Gaza by mid-September via international waters near Tunisia, Libya, Egypt’s waters, and Gaza’s coast. The Israeli occupation authorities have stated their intention to detain those aboard these ships.
Claudio – an Italian sailor participating in this maritime campaign – told webangah News Agency: “Samoud is a major movement showing solidarity with Palestine.many ships carrying humanitarian aid are coming from places like Genoa, Sicily,and Sardinia; they will converge at Catania. A group of us Italians is sailing together to deliver aid to Gaza and break its blockade. We are all members of Palestine Solidarity organizations.”
He added that several ships from Italy and Tunisia have already joined or will soon join this fleet.He estimates over 500 people on about 40 vessels will participate. Claudio said: “The Palestinian resistance motivated me to return yet again toward these lands despite being arrested multiple times before-I am not afraid of Israel or its threats. I am not even worried about losing my job.”
Claudio believes many countries such as Algeria and South Africa gained independence through resistance efforts-and he expects Palestinians’ struggle will lead them ultimately to victory freedom as well. He emphasized: “Benjamin Netanyahu is a criminal whose goal is killing people-this madman bombs cities indiscriminately. As a war criminal he deserves imprisonment.”
