Spain Takes Necessary Steps to Stop the Killing in Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares stated, “We have imposed sanctions on extremist settlers in the West bank.”
He added, “We will take all necessary actions to halt the mass killings in Gaza.”
A few days earlier, Albares revealed that Spain submitted a roadmap to the European Union emphasizing a ban on arms exports to the occupied territories and calls for expanding sanctions against Tel Aviv.
The minister criticized Brussels by saying, “The EU has done nothing so far; the time for speeches and talk with the Zionist regime has ended.”
He continued, “We demand suspending the cooperation agreement between Europe and Tel Aviv. We can no longer remain indifferent.”
Recently, the European Union began discussions on imposing customs tariffs on Israeli goods produced in the West Bank. If approved, this decision could significantly restrict exports of these products to European markets.
The EU had previously recognized in official documents that goods manufactured in settlements within occupied territories are not covered by free trade agreements with Israel and emphasized their seperate labeling requirements.
