Lebanese Government: Army’s Plan to Disarm Resistance Remains Confidential
Lebanon’s Minister of Information announced that the military’s plan for consolidating exclusive control of arms under the government will remain confidential.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Lebanon’s Annahar via Mehr News Agency, Lebanon’s Minister of Information, Paul Markous, stated at a press conference following a cabinet meeting that the Council of Ministers has decided to keep discussions about the military’s plan to disarm resistance groups and related negotiations confidential.
He added that the Council listened to and welcomed the military’s proposal to grant exclusive control over weapons to the Lebanese government.
